Are you Aware?
I’m sure you all know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and we see loads of pink ribbons. But did you also know that it’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month in the United States as well? The color for Domestic Violence Awareness is purple. So if you see any purple ribbons, that’s what they stand for.
But…. Did you know about the White ribbon? The White Ribbon Campaign (This is a Canadian link, but their are versions of it all around the world!) It’s MEN’s Awareness in ending domestic violence against women.
Together as human beings we make SL a truly international experience, this gives us an opportunity to share, learn, and educate each other about social issues that effect all people on the planet. Education truly is power, and I hope of you will wear a little purple to spread the word. Violence and abuse against anyone is intolerable. Together, we can make a stand, spread the word, and let abusers know that it is not ok and not acceptable.

It’s Hump Day!
So just a random post of dressed down hump day goodness.
I’ve been seeing these sleeveless shirts/vest pop up all over the marketplace lately and even a few of the blogs. When I saw the grey, I knew it was the perfect match for this sweet little mesh mini-skirt in red plaid.
Because so many designers are putting out this vest, be sure to watch prices and not to over pay. This one was from Heroes Art on the marketplace for only 100L.
I love this cute mesh mini-skirt from Suicidal Unborn. It comes in a number of plaid colors, and is low cut around the hips. The xxs is a little big on me, but it doesn’t show with the long shirt. It’s one more good reason to try on the demo!

Stand4Love
“STAND4LOVE is an awareness project to promote the visibility and rights of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Straight couples. Two adults should have the right to love without discrimination and intolerance. Marriage should be available to any loving couple. Let’s end hatred and discrimination now.” ( RicoRacer Flux~Clarity – via STAND4LOVE FLickr)
There are all different ways of loving someone. All different people in the world, and it takes education and tolerance to begin to make a difference. I love the message behind this campaign. And needed to participate and contribute. So that some day, all the ways humans love one another may be tolerated.
With Love,
Joie Arai

ColdLogic does retro!
ColdLogic has just last week had a massive new release…. So it’s been burning up the blog rolls, and this is some of cutest retro styling around! From the cherries to the bright inviting colors. Denim capris and halter tops heading right on into the warm summer!
Like a step back into the past we head to the kitchen to see what’s in the fridge. Of course that was after all the prepping and primping getting our outfits just right. I am in love, love, love with these dresses. And the cherries on Maci’s dress just pop!
Ok, so this is Maci and I… and we do always seem to find ourselves in some compromising position. Mainly because we both have nearly every pose Glitterati has ever produced and rarely a chance to use them!
The texturing on the new capris is awesome! ColdLogic tends to fit both Maci and I very well, but remember individual results, will depend on your shape, so try the Demos!

Culture Shock – Vanguard & Wasabi Pills
If you haven’t been to culture shock, now is a great time to go. Much of the crowd has died down and it is mostly lag free. You still need to be wearing less than 50 scripts, so remember to remove some of those heavier scripted items!
Two more of my favorite finds at culture shock are the mesh spring dress by Vanguard and this hair from Wasabi Pills called Dominique2. The dress has a great side swept texture that works well with it’s mesh construction. This is a new designer for me, so I’m looking forward to going and checking out their main store later this week!
Wasabi Pills was one of the first on the block with mesh hair, and they keep releasing great new mesh additions to their line. The face framing styles are all the rage right now and burning up the blog rolls.
Style Card:
Dress: Vanguard – Spring Dress (Rosie)
Skin: Glam Affair – Lean (Natural)
Hair: Wasabi Pills – Dominique2 (Cinnamon)
Shoes: Pixel Mode – Plain Baby-T’s (Black) (Not Shown)

Culture Shock – Echo
What is it about this turquoise or aqua blue this season?! I can not stop buying this color! Everything is so fresh and beautiful. I think 75% of everything I bought so far at the Culture Shock event was some version of this gorgeous color. And this mesh dress from Echo is no exception. I put this on, and felt like it was made for me. The fit is perfect. The shape, movement and texturing flawless.
I had never been to the Echo store before so after putting this beauty on, I ran over and purchased a few more items. I haven’t tried them on yet… So maybe they’ll be a later blog post! I think I may have to go back to culture shock and buy this again… in every other color.
If you’re as big into this color as I am right now, you’ll totally want to pick up the Season 2 Rain set from Mandala in ‘Salt blue’ it seems to go with a lot of variants of this seasons hot pallet and is something else I can’t manage to take off!
Style Card:
Dress: Echo -Madrigal (Teal) Only at Culture Shock!
Skin: Glam Affair – Leah (Natural)
Hair: Exile – All I am (Rust)
Jewelry: Mandala – Rain Season 2 (Salt Blue)
Shoes: G*Field – Alex (Turqoise – Patent pack)

Culture Shock – Ladies who Lunch
Culture Shock is back and in full swing! This years charity is Médecins Sans Frontières (Formerly Doctors without Borders) and you can read more about the event at Chic Management’s website. I have a few posts planned (Finals in RL allowing) and hope to highlight some favorites, as well as some designers new to me! And wow what Maci has planned!
Today’s spotlight is on Ladies Who Lunch. Known for couture styling and intricate details this is one brand where style never takes a break. The Deconstructed Jumper is made of multiple mesh pieces which works really well. I like to see designers use this technique more and more. It’s like the best of prims working together with mesh.
The prop used here for both pictures is from Glitterati. It’s simply titles Hallway and contains 10 different poses. Katey Coppola of Glitterati (and all involved) did a fantastic job with this years pose fair, and I already can’t wait till next!
Style Notes:
Dress: LWL – Deconstructed Jumper
Skin: Glam Affair – Leah (Natural)
Hair: Boon – TUN247 (Chestnut)
Earrings: Mandala – Pearl Rain (Salt Blue)
Feet: Similar – Mesh feet
Prop: Glitterati – Hallway
